LONG-TERM CARE
Long-term care addresses the needs of residents with chronic illness or challenges with advanced age like dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, and who are no longer able to care for themselves. ANRC’s goal is to help residents maintain their highest practicable level of function for independence while addressing their individual needs.
Long-term care sometimes referred to as Intermediate Level of Care typically may include the following examples of services offered:
- Assistance in dressing, eating, bathing, and going to the toilet also known as Activities of Daily Living or (ADLs)
- Medication management of routine oral medications, eye drops, and ointments
- General maintenance care of colostomies and ileostomies
- Routine care for indwelling bladder catheters
- Changes of dressings for postoperative or chronic wound conditions
- Skin care, including bathing and application of creams, or treatment of minor skin problems
- Routine care of incontinent residents, including use of briefs
- Routine care in connection with braces and similar devices
- Care of chronic illnesses such as Alzheimer or dementia
Long-term care is normally provided to Medicaid recipients or individuals covered by private pay and some health insurance plans and we also gladly work with the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
